The ADIT webinar program began in 2020. In the context of the pandemic and the transition of employees to remote work, a lot of questions and problems have arisen - from technical to psychological. At the initiative of Maria Pravdina, a member of the ADIT Presidium and Scientific Secretary of the Totma Museum Association (Vologda Region), the first webinar on the topic "Organization of remote work of employees in quarantine" was held on the Zoom platform.
11 webinars held formed the basis of the online conference "ADIT HOME 2020". Recordings of webinars and conferences are available on the ADIT youtube channel (in Russian).
ADIT club meetings are informal and local events for museum communities. On them, ADIT experts share their experience in automation, informatization and digital transformation of museums. The club is a place for discussions and presentations. The first meeting of the ADIT club took place in November 2007 in Kazan. For 2022 two workshops are planned in Omsk and Perm.
The ADIT Project Workshop is a two or three day workshop for discussing and designing museum communication strategies in the digital age. For the first time, ADIT workshops were held before the ADIT conference in Yelabuga (Tatarstan) in 2016 and then became part of the extended program of the annual ADIT conference: 2017 - Tver, 2018 - Saratov / Engels, 2019 - Yekaterinburg. In 2020, the workshops were held online using the Zoom and Moodle platforms with the support of the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation. in 2021 and 2022 we returned to traditional face-to-face format (Vladivostok, Kaliningrad).
Workshop objectives
The experience gained during the workshops proved to be particularly valuable in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has greatly affected the work of museums around the world. About 40 people from more than 20 regions of Russia took part in the online workshops in 2020.
The main discussion at the 2020 workshops was about how museums have restructured their internal and external communication and how have they activated their external virtual presence? Why, under the lockdown, did museums so quickly master what they had not been able to master for decades and what they had never gotten their hands on? How and why did priorities that seemed unshakable change so quickly? Who and what does the modern online environment of the museum and its environment consist of? How is the audience of the museum changing, which ceases to be predominantly local? How will different museum departments have to restructure their work? How should this affect the formation of the information, communication and digital strategy of the museum and how will it affect professional competencies and the development of the professional sphere?
The workshops combine expert lectures, group work, presentations, discussions and business games. Workshops can be held online, offline at the customer's site or in a mixed format, where part of the audience works remotely, and part - in the classroom.
Agendas for recent workshops (in Russian)
The idea of the project was proposed by Nikolai and Tatyana Selivanov, the founders and leaders of the Artistic Design Workshop. The children's museum and educational project "School of Schools" was based on the triad "School - Museum - IT". The main objective of the project was to develop a methodology for describing, studying and creatively interpreting a genuine museum object by teenagers. The material that schoolchildren had to collect in the course of studying, the knowledge and experience gained by them, were called upon to serve as the necessary scientific basis for creating a new creative information product. In this format, the “School of Schools” was held in September 2015 as part of the ADIT conference in Vologda.
Since 2016, ADIT has been conducting the "School of Schools" project together with IZI.TRAVEL. Groups of teenagers from studios and circles within museums develop and record thematic audio guides and publish them on the izi.travel storytelling platform. The project coordinator from ADIT is Tatyana Nikolaeva, the head of museum projects at Artemy Lebedev's studio, from izi.travel - Oksana Turskaya, deputy director of izi.travel.
